Welcome Back West Students!

I trust that you have had an enjoyable summer!   It is hard to believe, but we are less than 3 weeks away from the start of the 2023-24 school year.  As we plan for students and staff to return to WEST, there are a number of items I need to share with you.  Attached to this email you will find your "Welcome Back" student newsletter as well as the Home and School Newsletter.  Additionally, there are also documents with information about Picture Day and Food Service which will be important for you to review.  While many of the items are informational, some items do need your response.  Those designated with an * require action on your part by the dates listed.

Later this afternoon, information that is specific to grade levels will be sent via email and posted on Schoology.  Those communications will contain information about Homecoming Applications, Parking, and Act 10 information, as well as a few other details as we start the year.

Student schedules will be available beginning August 14th through our student information system, Infinite Campus.  As you are viewing schedules, please know that careful consideration has been given to the creation of these schedules and the accommodation of as many student requests as possible. Unless you are missing a class, were given a class that you did not request, or have an incomplete schedule, please refrain from making requests for course changes. If you do have a schedule that has one of these concerns, please complete this Google form so that the counseling team can review your request – 23-24 DHSW Schedule Change Request Form.

DASD Food Services Information and Free Meal Program

Food Services:

Beginning Monday, August 28, the Food Service Department will resume charging students for their meals unless the student is eligible for meal benefits. In order to determine if your child is eligible for free or reduced meals, a 2023/2024 Household Application must be submitted.  

If you believe that your child might qualify for free or reduced meals and have not been notified by the District of eligibility from Direct Certification, please fill out an application online as soon as possible by using the following link: https://www.schoolcafe.com/DASD

TCHS Students:

*TCHS Calendar/DASD Calendar  –  The calendar with conflicts will be posted on the website.  This information will also be emailed to the students directly for the completion of the Dismissal Permission form online no later than September 10th.
